How we research and write
Every mover ranking starts with data, not opinion. We pull the companies that appear in Google's local results for a city, verify each is a real active business, and rank them on their verified rating and review volume. We then read the most recent reviews to summarize the real themes — what customers praise and what they warn about. Guides are written from established moving-industry practice and public rules (such as the FMCSA's protections on interstate moves), with real cost ranges for the Pacific Northwest. We write in plain language and name things the way people actually experience them.
Who writes and reviews this content
MoversChecker is produced by a small, independent editorial team focused on the Pacific Northwest — not a rotating cast of freelancers writing for the whole country at once. We don't attach invented bylines or fake "expert reviewer" credentials to our pages; the work stands on its sources and its methodology, both of which anyone can check. Rankings and guides are researched, written, and edited against the standards on this page, and they're reviewed again whenever the underlying data or the rules behind them change.
Sourcing
Our mover rankings are built from real, public data: live Google star ratings and review counts, review text from recent customers, and public licensing and FMCSA records. We describe what customers report, and we distinguish verified facts from estimates. Where we cite a rule or a place to verify something — a state regulator, the FMCSA SAFER system — we link to the source so you can check it yourself.
No fabrication
We do not invent ratings, prices, review counts, license numbers, or customer quotes. Cost figures are labeled as planning estimates. When a figure such as a USDOT number isn't verified, we say so rather than guessing. We also don't claim testing we didn't perform — we don't run undisclosed "mystery shops" or pretend to have personally hired every company.
Accuracy and updates
Moving companies change — new owners, new crews, new ratings — so our data can go stale. We refresh it periodically and date our pages so you know how current a ranking is. This is a small, independent site, and we won't always catch every change first; that's why corrections matter to us.
Conflicts of interest
We are not owned by, invested in, or operated by any moving company, and we don't let commercial relationships shape editorial judgments. If that ever changed for a specific piece of content, we would disclose it plainly on the page.
Corrections
Ratings and details change. We refresh data periodically and date our pages. If something is wrong or out of date, email [email protected] and we'll correct it.
Affiliate & lead relationships

A review site is only worth using if you can trust it, so we treat that trust as the product. We have nothing to gain by steering you toward a bad mover — our value comes from being right, not from any single referral. That's why the data decides the rankings, why estimates are labeled as estimates, and why we'd rather say "we don't know, here's where to check" than fill a gap with a guess.
